How to make a rose headband

Inspired by all the wonderful hair accessories for kids available on Etsy I decided to make one myself. We just bought a really cute Easter outfit for our one year old, but it needed something extra.
I saw some cheap foam roses at the dutch dollar store, and decided to try it out.
here's the step by step instruction. What you need is: cotton yarn in desired color, small piece of felt, artificial flowers (you can use any kind you want, I used foam roses), scissors, glue gun.

  • Crochet a simple cotton headband. I made a chain that measures the circumference of my child's head. I like to measure on the snug side. So the amount of chains depends on your child's head size. Join at first chain. Single crochet three rounds, if you want to make the headband wider, do more.

  • Cut out a piece of felt large enough to make a base for your flowers, but small enough so it won't show in the front. Glue the circle of felt on the inside of the headband

  • Take the stems off the flowers. Glue the flowers on the felt patch. Push the felt onto the flowers well.
